- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons softened butter for filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter for frosting
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In another bowl, mix warm milk, mashed bananas, melted butter, and egg until smooth. Combine mixtures to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl to rise for 60-90 minutes until doubled.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter on top. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon before rolling tightly into a log.
- Cut into equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Allow to rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For frosting, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth; frost warm rolls.
