Instructions
- Warm the milk to about 105–115°F and stir in the yeast; let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla; mix until a rough dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl and let rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle (12×9 inches) and spread with softened butter. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly from one edge into a log; slice into rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Let rolls rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for approximately 20–25 minutes until set.
- Prepare frosting by beating together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla; drizzle over warm rolls.
